Meerabai Mira, aka Meera or Meera Bai, was an upper class Hindu mystic singer from Rajasthan offering over 1000 devotional Kirtan songs to the Bhakti Yoga movement.
Meerabai (1498 -1547AD) was one of the most significant figures of the Sant Mat (Saint Tradition) of the Bhakti Yoga movement. Thousands of her devotional songs, Kirtan or bhajans written by her are popular throughout India and are commonly sung at Kirtan festivities throughout the worldwide. Meera’s Bhakti tradition is passionate praise of Lord Krishna.
Her writings are similar with the traditions of Ravidas and Rupa Goswami
